With their start in "old school" punk rock in 1994 in Southern California, Headnoise have continued on and off from their current home of gritty Uptown Chicago. Robert and Edie Goodwin are the founders of Headnoise and the constant thread through its changing roster. Mix Edie's powerful vocals, their shared lyric writing, the driving punk guitar and drum rhythms, occasional keyboard, and you have one of the best and most respected groups in the genre.

After a resurgence in 2011, Headnoise officially decided to go on hiatus in May 2012.
