Bio

Aracely is a singer and songwriter living in Chicago who has deep roots in the American south. Her Latin and Texan heritage inform her sense of rhythm and style, while her faith and family life shape her content. She draws musical influence from the likes of Rich Mullins and Emmylou Harris with hints Innocence Mission and Mazzy Star.
 
Her start in music was as a founding member of the folk-rock band Seeds, with whom she wrote and performed from 1995-2000. In 2004 she released her first solo project In the SandboxPurple Flowers (2011) came about during treatment for thyroid cancer. Her full album Let it Go, was produced by folk maven Jan Krist with her husband Alan Finkbeiner at their studio in Indiana. In 2016 she partnered with Adri Arango (keys, guitar, vocals) to form their praise project Hallel and recorded a self-titled album in time for their Spanish language worship tour in Colombia. Aracely can be found leading worship, performing as Hallel or solo throughout the midwest.
